Edge banding: ends, reserve and rolls

Applied length and purchased length are different results.

First add only treated edges, multiplied by the part count. Add application allowance at both ends of every segment. Then apply percentage reserve and round purchases to whole rolls. Group before rounding: two colours require separate purchases and cannot share the remainder of a single roll. Band width also creates separate groups. The example 10% reserve is editable and does not replace measuring your machine losses.

Reset example

Four 800 × 400 mm parts with all edges banded need 9.6 m. Without end allowance, a 10% reserve gives 10.56 m; with 20 m rolls, buy one roll.
